About City Barbeque
Rick Malir founded City Barbeque restaurant company in 1999, Columbus, Ohio. The company is currently headquartered in Columbus and employs over eighty people.
Malir is a self-taught chef and has been cooking since he was six years old. City Barbeque specializes in Memphis-style barbecue and offers a variety of menu items including ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, turkey, and pork dishes.
Malir develops his recipes by experimenting with different combinations of meats and seasonings. Malir is known for his unique sauce that he uses, “Kansas City-style BBQ sauce”. In 2007, the company announced plans to open two stores in Columbus, Ohio.
The first location was opened on June 2, 2007. The second location was opened at the end of September 2007. Both locations serve as City Barbeque’s headquarters and are located near Matthews Arena .
In 2013, Malir opened a second restaurant in Columbus, Ohio called Malir’s. The same menu is available at both locations. Food – The menu at City Barbeque consists of the following meats:
